The essence and enormous place of a friend in one’s life in nine times out of ten can never be over-emphasized. The subtle role they play with or without our knowledge, like our shadows most of them are there whether physically or through share thoughts over time and this underlying presence takes a toll on us as it shapes us to either becoming this or that as we consequently become who we are by the framing of our thoughts and the working of our minds.
It is the bland truth above that should help as a counsel in dissuading us from keeping bad company seeing that it never leads to happy ending. The sense of decorum with which society expects from youth in recent times has long failed. People are no longer mirroring in the culture they were brought up from their homes, parental guide has since lost its place and even the infinitesimal association with a friend within an insignificant span is tough enough to blur and erase all cultures instil by our parents, elders and even from the religious domains.
While just a few have created some defense or built some wall that has made them concrete rocks to the immoral association with bad influence, so many has remained gullible to the vices robbed off from friends and depraved company. So many who hailed from decent homes have become ring leaders transmuted over-night by the sheer association with bad company. Associations like this has led to loss of lives, shattered destinies and destruction of dreams. Social vices like smoking, cultism which consequently birth gangsterism is the only yielding fruit waiting at the other end for you to reap from and it does no one no good. It is never always possible to plant maize and harvest yam, of course not in its realist sense. Caution they say is the mother of safety so that one should learn to guide himself from the claws of fowl friends who have no sense of direction in life. This calls the need for one to learn to pick his friends and not just be a part of any company that do not share similar of positive aspirations. The riches of life only find those who have prepared their nets and seeing that meeting people along the way as you journey through life is inevitable, one should therefore learn the filtration method where everybody he meets is subjected to this process and only those who synch well with his idiosyncrasies will be a part of his life.
