Primary school is said to be where the grooming of a child starts from, after home.
So, in my society, children are been taught how they are the leaders of their society right from primary school. Teachers would make them sing songs of self-motivation saying "it's to prepare the young minds to take over their society," when they become "leaders of tomorrow."
Parents couldn't agree more, as they all want their beloved children to be greater than them. For this reason, a poor farmer or an average man in my society would go through several sufferings such as (feeding once a day, taking up odd jobs, subjecting the rest of his children to child labor), just to see one child through school. In the light that, the promised "tomorrow" would come for this child. Thereby, liberating the whole family.
Most of the parents in my society, didn't go to school let alone finish. Though some were opportune to get to the level of becoming a Ph.D. holder. Whereas, others could only boast of a secondary school certificate.
During their childhood days, they were told that most of their unsuccessful relatives couldn't become leaders of their tomorrow, as a result of lack of education. Therefore, to become successful and a leader of their own tomorrow, they all have to attend school, and come out with the best result.
This they also passed to my generation as the criteria for success. Causing struggling parents to give up on any child who refuses to go to school. Now it has become a lie that is been passed from one generation to another, yet we won't stop believing in the tomorrow that is never coming.
My generation came and the society told us we are the leaders of tomorrow. While some gave up the wait of becoming the leader of tomorrow, others like myself have acquired the criteria for becoming the leader of tomorrow and some others have acquired even more than the required, and still waiting for the tomorrow.
Now a new generation has risen and they are also being told that, they are the leaders of tomorrow. Making one to wonder and ask which tomorrow? The tomorrow we've all been waiting for or is there any other tomorrow we've not been promised, when would our tomorrow come. And when would theirs come.? Have we all been waiting for one tomorrow.?
Here is a shocker, in my society, an individual can hold a public position for years and refuse to resign, when they all know that youths are coming up, more capable individuals are being groomed daily. What they do is, they would keep changing and renewing their age to keep them in office. But when the age can't take the lies no more, they pass their position to family members or embezzle funds that would shake the foundation of the tomorrow that was supposed to come.
For this reasons, our father's tomorrow, my generation's tomorrow and the next generation's tomorrow have refused to come and might never come unless precautionary measures are put in place to enforce observance of the law. And also teach the coming generation how to be independent of the government through entrepreneurship seminars and how to back up their ideas with skill acquisition for the betterment of their life and the society. If not, the tomorrow that is yet to comes, would never come......
